Been practicing for a while and want to go deeper? This is the next level course for people who’ve ideally been practicing yoga for six months and have done our 5 Week Beginner’s Yoga Course.

This course will make you see your yoga practice and experience yourself differently. Expect your practice to seriously change as you cultivate presence and awareness to really embody your practice. When we’re centered in the body we can take our yoga practice to the next level: physically, mentally and spiritually.

We will prepare the body to go deeper through strengthening and opening exercises, while preparing the mind through breathing, concentration and meditation. The goal of this course is to guide you along your yoga path rather than achieving certain poses, although you may well be able to stand on your head by the end.

The course is run as a sequence, with each workshop building upon the previous. Ideally, you should attend each workshop. There are no other yoga courses like this on offer in Brisbane, this is a unique opportunity to develop physically, mentally and spiritually with genuine, authentic teachers. This course will only be offered a few times each year so don’t miss out.

Cost is $350 for 6 weeks of workshops and includes a 5 class pass.

While each week will have a physical focus we will also delve deeper into yoga philosophy, breathing and meditation so that you can experience the transformative effects of yoga on your life.

Standing poses – refining the basics, going deeper, common mistakes and avoiding injury
Exploring the Self

Strengthening, lengthening and opening- core, shoulders, hips and hamstrings
Dealing with emotions

Week 3

Twists, binds and revolved poses – a new spin on familiar poses
Tantric concepts of consciousness and energy

Week 4 

Back bends and heart openers
Kundalini and the chakras

Week 5 

Balancing – standing and arm balances
Ayurveda and the Doshas

Week 6 

Inversions – turn your practice upside down
Finding bliss

Class size is limited to 18 and you will be guided and supported by two teachers.

    I loved the intermediate course. I learnt so much about the meaning and history of yoga, and the correct alignment for poses. Monica is an amazing teacher, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about yoga. From doing the course I’ve developed a love for yoga and signed up for the yoga winter challenge :)..     This course was a must for me! It took my practise to a whole new level! To start with, poses I had been practising for months were corrected and deepened. I felt stronger and more flexible within a couple weeks vs months of practise! Monica did a great job of explaining the yoga philosophy in a nutshell which peaked many of our interests and resonated with me in unexpected ways. Also, the mediation techniques introduced were refreshing, and were entwined to the yoga philosophy and poses we were learning. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore their yoga practise from new positions and perspectives. I only hope that one day she will run an intermediate-expert course!

    The intermediate course was a brilliant way to deepen and improve my practice. The course has improved my understanding of the basic yogic philosophy and has bought me to a new level of awareness both on and off the mat.
    Monica delivers the material with passion and compassion providing knowledge, practical tools, hints and tips on how to improve your practice. Monica’s straight forward, no BS approach is easy to understand and follow. Cultivate Calm is a gorgeous studio in which Monica creates a safe and comfortable environment to learn and practice.     Can’t speak highly enough of Monica’s wisdom and the Intermediate course content. Presented with passion and free of any judgement, the theory and practical sides to yoga were broken down into a logical and manageable format. I feel more comfortable on my mat and off it. Thanks Monica and Kat for providing a safe environment for us all to take stock of our practice and ourselves.
